Fidelity SecureFire goes live in George as private firefighting arm expands to 17 centres nationwide
Fidelity's private firefighting service reached its 17th centre, backed by a December 2025 High Court ruling confirming it may operate nationally - with 600+ first-responder vehicles.
Fidelity SecureFire went live in George in the Western Cape on 1 March 2026, making it the private firefighting service's 17th active location, Engineering News reported. Existing centres include Cape Town, Durban, Gauteng, East London, Gqeberha, Bloemfontein, Pietermaritzburg, Polokwane and Rustenburg.
The service uses a three-tiered response model: Fidelity ADT armed response officers act as first responders via more than 600 vehicles equipped to extinguish small fires and assist evacuation, backed by Rapid Intervention Vehicles and then full-scale fire engines.
Fidelity says SecureFire has completed more than 2,000 successful incident responses and protects around R400 billion in assets. Subscriptions start at under R2 per day, with contracted customers activating a response via 086 007 0700.
In December 2025 the Gauteng Division of the High Court confirmed that Fidelity SecureFire's private firefighting services are lawful and may be rendered nationally across South Africa.
The offering also includes fire prevention services, maintenance contracts, installations and compliance inspections with digital reporting.
"We're not here to replace existing services - we're here to strengthen them," said Fidelity Services Group CEO Wahl Bartmann.
