PSiRA makes ePSiRA pre-registration mandatory for all new security officer trainees from 5 January 2026
Training providers cannot upload course reports for new entrants unless the learner completed ePSiRA pre-registration first - mandatory for all new trainees from 5 January 2026.
PSiRA Industry Circular 002, dated 18 December 2025 and addressed to all security training providers, introduces mandatory pre-registration for security officer training of new entrants.
"Effective 05 January 2026, all new prospective security officers shall be required to complete pre-registration on the ePSiRA system prior to the commencement of training," the circular states.
Training providers can no longer upload course reports for new entrants on ePSiRA unless the learner has successfully completed pre-registration. Registration is completed once the course report is approved, after which the prospective security officer can finalise full registration on the system.
The requirement flows from PSiRA's 2021 Digitalisation of Industry Training Circular, which moved learner profiles, training enrolment and course reporting onto the electronic ePSiRA system.
Failure to comply may result in non-processing of course reports - providers must ensure all enrolled candidates comply to avoid delays in approval of training outcomes.
The circular was issued by Ms Jeanette De Klerk, Acting Deputy Director: Training and Communication, with enquiries directed to Training Manager Ms Kedibone Shai.
Training providers should build the pre-registration step into their enrolment process immediately.
